His Story

Paul really enjoys helping others solve their most urgent tax and business problems.  He's a friendly, easy-going person who gets along with just about everyone, even CRA officials!  But don't let his calm demeanor fool you, Paul aggressively and professionally defends his clients against unfair CRA tax audit reassessments.
With over 30 years' of experience, Paul has earned a strong reputation for his honesty, hard work and commitment to helping his clients manage their businesses more effectively, increase profits and minimize taxes.
After graduating with distinction from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Commerce degree (1977 - 1981), Paul articled at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and became a Chartered Accountant in 1983.  He branched out on his own to help small business owners and individuals with their taxation, accounting, and business advisory needs.  He completed the CICA In-Depth Income Tax Course (1985 - 1986) and maintains his professional standards through a variety of advanced tax, accounting, technology and business courses.

From 1995 to 2009, Paul owned and operated several successful restaurants in Toronto, which gave him a comprehensive understanding of the operational, accounting and tax issues that confront businesses in the hospitality industry.  Today, a substantial part of his practice is focused on helping restaurant owners improve their profitability and avoid costly CRA tax audit reassessments.

Over the years, Paul's practice has undertaken a wide variety of special engagements, including forensic accounting investigations, business startup assistance, purchase and sale transactions, private placement financings, litigation support and expert witness testimony in court cases.
